Rozpoznání plýtvání

Muda je jedním ze tří japonských slov muda, mura mun. Muda reprezentuje slova: plýtvání, zbytečnost, nečinnost, atp. V produkci se vyskytuje cyklické plýtvání, které je těžké na první pohled identifikovat, protože vypadá jako organizované (transport, příprava zakázek). Cyklické plýtvání je snadné odstranit. Druhým typem je necyklické plýtvání, které je lehké identifikovat, ale nákladné jej odstranit (porucha, výpadek).
